Art Collection

Drawing inspiration from Austin's vibrant cultural scene, NINE dot ARTS has curated an art collection especially for DoubleTree by Hilton Austin. The collection captures the city's 'weird' vibes, its iconic music scene, and, naturally, the experimental art scene. The aim is to encourage hotel guests to think about each piece and the role it plays in Austin's unique, quirky culture.

The collection is home to a variety of pieces, predominately by Austin-based artists and graduates of the University of Texas Austin. From imaginative photography to pieces based on iconic musicians, the collection is as eclectic as it is fascinating. During your stay, take some time to ponder over the collection and discover the work of some local up-and-coming talent.

Christa Palazzolo

DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Austin, TX - Art Collection

A musician herself, Christa Palazzolo, a UT graduate working out of MASS Gallery, was commissioned to weave music into the NINE dot ARTS collection. Her pieces include subtle archetypes of legendary music stars, including Beyoncé, Janis Joplin, Buddy Holly, and Tejano legend Selena.

Bob Schneider

DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Austin, TX - Art Collection

At the end of the hallway near the meeting rooms, hangs a small collage by the Austin artist, Bob Schneider, inside an arch. Schneider, a very well-known musician, is also a serious and accomplished artist and had a large show of his collages at Flatbed Gallery in East Austin in 2015. As music was a central theme to the collection, it only seemed fitting to include the artwork of an accomplished musician.

Padaric Kolander

DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Austin, TX - Art Collection

See two of Kolander's distinctive pieces in the NINE dot ARTS collection - 'Stop Breathing so Hard 2', a vinyl wall covering, and 'Proletariat', graphite, charcoal, and acrylic on paper.

Denise Prince

DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Austin, TX - Art Collection

Prince aims to emphasize the 'snapshot' limitation of the medium of photography, by providing strange juxtaposing imagery to make the viewer think about what could be happening in the moment. The result is intriguing and pushes the viewer to reconsider logical explanation.
